Who ever knew you could have so much fun in a single day? Any one of the almost 100 people who attended Forest Fun Day found this out for themselves and now know just how much there is to learn and enjoy in the great outdoors!

As people gathered on Piney Point for a warm welcome it was easy to sense the excitement and enthusiasm for this much anticipated event. As the clouds parted the fun started! Every corner of the campus was filled with people learning, laughing and loving the many activities that were expertly run by our talented and dedicated volunteer instructors.

One had only to witness so many of the “firsts” that were happening throughout the day for both adults and children. Someone shooting their first bow and arrow, paddling a canoe on Lake Wapalanne, holding a turtle or frog, catching a fish, exploring nature, using a compass, or painting a special rock.

A highlight of the day was gathering together at Piney Point, to share a lunchtime meal together around the campfire and toast a tasty s’more. Just when it seemed people may be running low on energy, they apparently saved enough to sprint to the Dolly Jingles ice cream truck to complete their day.

We are so grateful for all the happy campers who attended this spectacular event!
