We Thank You!

Sparks fly when like-minded people bound by a common purpose unite around a campfire! How symbolic that in this darkest time at SOC, we have been warmed by the light and love of so many Friends.

In recognition of the generosity and support extended while reopening the School of Conservation we recently welcomed some of our ‘Friends’ who have helped us reach this exciting milestone. This day was dedicated to those who have contributed to our ability to engage over 500 eager participants of all ages and backgrounds in immersive and inclusive outdoor experiences, over the last few months, many whom have never visited SOC or even heard of it.

Appreciation Day offered an opportunity to give back to those who have been catalysts for our renewal. Whether providing financial support, running a program, sprucing up the campus, or selflessly giving of yourselves when asked in a variety of capacities, we appreciate each one of YOU.

This special day provided an opportunity for the ‘givers’ to become ‘livers’ as they immersed themselves in some of the activities that teachers and students experience when they visit SOC, including baking goodies in our brick oven and searching for macroinvertebrates in the stream.

The SOC campus was proudly displaying it’s fall colors, in all their splendor and the magic of the School of Conservation was present throughout the day! Especially while roasting smore’s in camaraderie with others who are bound with a common calling and a sense of purpose in honoring the legacy of the School.

It was easy to capture the feeling that SOC is in good hands with Friends like these, as we look forward to the potential for our continued partnership and build the new SOC for generations to come.
