Come Fly With Us! Fly Fishing Program for Adults (14+)

June 11, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Spend a day learning Fly Fishing with a local expert at NJSOC!

Whether you are brand new to Fly Fishing or a solidly experienced angler, this full day program will encompass everything you need to know to start enjoying this rewarding past time in the great outdoors. Local Fly Fishing expert, Paul Weiss, has 30+ years of fly fishing experience and the “Come Fly With Us” Program covers everything from basic equipment, casting, advanced techniques, river & stream assessment to fly fishing etiquette!

You will work within small groups and get hands-on experience in our local waters. Fly fishing is a sport that is not only economical and beginner-friendly, but also helps you learn patience, agility (both physically & mentally) and gain a greater appreciation for our beautiful natural resources!

For this program, all equipment will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. A snack break and lunch will be included. This event is rain or shine, and please dress accordingly for the weather. Sunblock & tick repellent is also recommended.

IMPORTANT: Fishing licenses are required for anyone ages 16+. Please go to the online link here for NJ fishing license purchase/renewal.

You can learn more about Paul and fly fishing in this video: The Greatest Gift.

If you have any difficulty with the registration process, please let us know so we can help! Contact us at info@njsoc.org.

Please note: No pets are allowed on the NJ School of Conservation Campus.

The Friends of the New Jersey School of Conservation is a U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. When NJSOC closed in July 2020, the Friends launched a campaign to save it. This ultimately led to negotiations with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, owners of NJSOC, to obtain an interim management agreement for the School. This agreement was finalized in April 2021, and the Friends of NJSOC are proud to offer limited programming at NJSOC with the help of dedicated and talented volunteers. We are pleased to register you for one of our programs!
